Yacht racing has a variety of forms. It may involve a few hours dashing round the cans, or a test of endurance and resilience on a passage race. We at BOOM enjoy all forms, we would be delighted to introduce you to racing through a low key short event, perhaps a club race in Conwy or if you are more experienced something a bit more frenetic such as the IRC Nationals in Pwhlleli. Our longer distance races include ISORA races (Irish Sea Offshore Racing) events.

A great yacht racing team needs a whole range of abilities, with each team member delivering their particular skill set in a sometimes demanding environment. Everybody has their own strengths and here at BOOM we aim to highlight those strengths along with developing an understanding of the art of yacht racing. Your skipper Cris has competed at International level at numerous European and World Championships taking podium places at a number of those events. Cris also skippered the yacht that holds the record (on corrected time) for the Round Anglesey Race (photo below) and took Class 2 Trophy for the Scottish Islands Peaks Race 2015 (to view a re-run of the SIPR on Yellowbrick tracker go to http://yb.tl/sipr2015) and won the SIPR outright in 2016
