Taster Day. A taster day will include boat familiarisation and a few hours on the water. You will learn the basics of sailing and be involved in sail handling and helming (steering) the boat. This is an ideal session for someone new to sailing, or a birthday treat.
Race Training Day. A race training day will include boat familiarisation, a breakdown of positions on the boat and their responsibilities. Each crew member will perform their duties through various manoeuvres. The day will conclude with a debrief. Crew members will work towards proficiency in a particular position within the crew. This is an ideal session for someone with sailing experience looking to develop racing skills and/or come racing with BOOM. For details please see our Booking Calendar page or contact us.
Cruises. We aim to provide a rich experience of yacht cruising to our clients. We hope to include at least one night at anchor, and give you an experience in different marinas. However the weather will always play a part and we may need to tailor the itinerary in consideration of the abilities of those on board. Races/Regattas. With a variety of races available throughout the season, and with races varying in time and distance BOOM race to win but, more importantly, we also race to bring out the best in ourselves. We will push the boat hard, and we will push ourselves hard, but we always remember this is about enjoyment.
Yachtmaster, Day Skipper Practical, Competent Crew and Powerboat Level 2 courses. Tuition and qualifications can greatly improve your enjoyment. Clipping another boat in the marina, going aground, or passage, making passage at the wrong time… any one of these things can seriously dampen your spirits( or worse!).

Foul Weather Gear Hire. Don’t turn up with lightweight clothing and hope for the best. Having the right gear will keep you warm and dry, and will greatly enhance your experience. We offer Jacket and Salopettes hire (£5 per day – minimum period 2 days).
