The Competent Crew course is ideal for those new to sailing and gives a great all round introduction to all aspects of yachting. The Day Skipper practical is a course for aspiring skippers with some yachting experience and basic navigation and sailing skills. Work towards your RYA certificates or just come along for the ride! Five days of intensive tuition on board North Star (fastest training yacht in the north!) to develop your confidence around the boat. Whilst not mandatory we highly recommend those taking their Day Skipper practical to have completed the Day Skipper theory course, and if you took it a while ago please brush up! You will be examined on a number of aspects of the theory, and there isn't sufficient time to teach the theory as well.
